The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) last spotted the LPA at 515 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar. It maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It was moving northwest at 15kph.
Signal No. 1 remains up in Catanduanes, Eastern Samar, and the eastern portions of Northern Samar. Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said.
On Wednesday, a thunderstorm advisory was raised at 9:20 a.m. over Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga City, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Dinagat Islands, Sulu and nearby areas, where moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds may be experienced in a span of 1 to 2 hours.
Throughout the day, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected over Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon.
Pagasa also advised small boats against venturing out into areas with Signal No. 1, the seaboard of Northern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Central Luzon and Southern Luzon.
