TROPICAL depression "Ramon" may intensify further into a tropical storm in 24 hours as it remains off the coast of Visayas, state-run weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) last spotted the LPA at 515 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar. It maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It was moving northwest at 15kph.
