The Philippines’ women’s baseball team, playing for the first time in an Asian level competition merely to gain experience, found itself advancing into the Super Round of Four in the ongoing Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) Women’s Cup.

Victories over world ranked competitors Hong Kong, No. 10, on Saturday, 12-3, and No. 8 South Korea, 14-7, on Sunday, earned the Filipinas one of four seats in the semifinal phase of the eight-team field that serves as qualifier for the 2020 World Cup.
