Hidilyn Diaz will be skipping the grandest opening ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games on Saturday at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Diaz, 28, confirmed to The Manila Times on Monday that she would not be attending the ceremony to focus on her goal of winning the gold medal in the women’s 55 kg weightlifting class on December 2 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
