CENTURY Pacific Food Inc. announced on Thursday that it had unveiled a new coconut product.
In a disclosure, the listed food manufacturer said its Coco Mama Fresh Gata marked its “first major launch of a culinary coconut product using its own brand.”
Century Pacific is keen to distribute coconut products in the local market, given its established network in the country.
The food firm is banking on its coconut manufacturing facilities because it initially began as an integrated manufacturer of high-value coconut products for export.
“Coco Mama Fresh Gata, in turn, is meant to provide home cooks with an easy and convenient way to use fresh coconut cream without having to buy the actual coconut, and then grating and pressing it themselves,” Century Pacific said.
Earlier this year, the company introduced Birch Tree Fortified Choco and Argentina Corned Chicken.
The firm announced in October that it signed agreements on supplying tuna and sardines to Russian food firms Magnit Food Retail Chain, Dalimo and LLC Dalpromryba. It also inked a deal to supply coconut milk products to Panasia Impex Co. Ltd.
In the first three quarters of the year, Century Pacific saw its consolidated net income rise by 10 percent to P2.61 billion from P2.37 billion in the same period last year on the back of its robust branded business.
Century Pacific shares slipped by 16 centavos or 1.04 percent to close at P15.22 apiece on Thursday.
