Typhoon signal Number 1 was raised over parts of Southern Luzon and Visayas as Typhoon “Tisoy” remains off the coast east of Catanduanes, the weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration last spotted Tisoy at 885 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 185 kph. Pagasa said it was moving in a westward direction at a speed of 15 kph.
