Carlos Yulo launches official Twitter handle

SOUTHEAST Asian Games all-around champion gymnast Carlos Yulo launched his official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

In a video tweet on his newly-created account, Yulo told netizens to unfollow and report anyone who claims to be him.

“Hi, Twitter people! Gusto ko lang po sabihin na ito lang po ang official Twitter account ko po, @c_edrielzxs, same username as my IG [Instagram],” (I want to tell you all that this is my official Twitter account, which is the same as my Instagram account.) he said.

“Please unfollow and report yung ibang dummy account. Continue supporting atletang Pilipino. Maraming Salamat po,” (Please unfollow and report other dummy accounts. Continue supporting Filipino athletes. Thank you.) Yulo said.

Yulo does not have a Twitter handle until this Tuesday. One that has been doing the rounds of social media, @carlos_yulo, was thought of initially as belonging to the gymnast and netizens flocked to the account to congratulate him. His family said, however, that this was a fake account and urged netizens to report it.

The Japanese-trained Yulo won the men’s all-around gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games on Sunday. ARIC JOHN SY CUA
