Bulacan has a female police director

A female police senior officer is the new Bulacan Police Provincial Office commander, according to Region 3 Director Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermona.

Col. Emma Macapagal Libunao was installed at the formal turn over rites held at the Bulacan Provincial Headquarters in Camp General Alejo Santos in Malolos City on Monday.
Libunao assumed office effective November 29.

She replaced Col. Chito Bersaluna who served for more than one and a half years.

In mid 90’s, Libinao was assigned as the Chief of Police in towns of Balagtas, San Ildefonso and City of Malolos.

She was assigned at the Directorate for Police Community Relations at the National Headquarters in Camp Crame. She is the first ever woman Bulacan police chief.

A native of Barangay Sacdalan in San Miguel, Bulacan, Lubinao vowed to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs, terrorism, and all forms of crimes to maintain the peace and order in the whole province of Bulacan.

Libunao and Bersaluna were classmates in Police Intelligence Course in 1996.
She warned drug peddlers not to expect less bloody campaign under her watch.

“We will engage the community in drug campaign. Internal cleansing continues. We will engaged the religious sectors to be part of our mission programs and activities,” Libunao said.
