A sizable amount of our gross domestic product (GDP) is driven by the small and medium enterprise sector. As of the Philippine Statistics Authority’s 2018 data, there were 998,342 listed micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country. This number could be closer to or over a million at the moment. MSMEs are increasing and thriving in the country today — a trend that is almost unprecedentedly increasing in Southeast Asia as well.
