Dominguez strikes gold in men’s individual freestyle pomsae

JEORDAN Dominguez added a gold medal to the Philippine taekwondo’s haul after emerging victorious in the men’s individual freestyle poomsae competition on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

Dominguez tallied 7.433 points, outclassing Nguyen Ngoc Minh Hy (6.999) and Saputra Wawan (6.633).

Janna Dominique settled for the silver in the women’s side with 6.766 points while the mixed team also notched the silver with 6.866.

The PH taekwondo team snared four golds out of eight poomsae events.

Taekwondo will continue on Sunday until December 9 with the kyorugi (sparring) competition where 15 golds are at stake. JEREMIAH M. SEVILLA
