THIS month marks the 7th year anniversary of the proudly Filipino boneless fried chicken brand, ChickenZilla. Inspired by the chicken chop stalls found in night markets throughout Asia, ChickenZilla brought the concept of multi-flavored giant chicken chops to Philippine shores on 2012.

ChickenZilla was founded by friends Eisen Munoz, Nikki Gayod and Chris Yu soon after they graduated from university. Being avid travellers and foodies, the trio was always looking out for food trends and concepts abroad that would fit the preferences of the Filipino market. The group noticed how strong the local preference was for fried chicken and wanted to offer a product that was comfortable and familiar yet also new and exciting. In 2012, ChickenZilla began its food retail operations with a single night market stall and began building a strong loyal following among customers throughout Metro Manila. “Customers would travel for more than two hours just to get their fix of our boneless fried chicken. That’s when we knew we had something special,” says business development head Nikki Gayod.
