Gilas Pilipinas coach Tim Cone said it is not right to compare the Philippine Team’s performance in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Championship in China and the just- concluded Southeast Asian Games (SEAG).
The Philippines swept the SEAG basketball competitions among them the men’s and women’s 5-on-5 and the 3x3 men’s and women’s contests. In sharp contrast, Gilas, under the tutelage of coach Yeng Guiao, emerged winless in five games in the FIBA World Cup last August 31 to September 15.
