CIMB Bank was named ‘Best Consumer Digital Bank’ in this year’s 2019 Asia-Pacific Global Finance Awards presented at New York, beating out Philippine domestic competition.

Winners were selected by a world-class panel of judges with the following criteria: strategy for attracting and servicing customers digitally, success in recruitment and growth of clients, breadth of product offerings, value-exchange of digital initiatives between clients and servicing partners, and digital platform design and functionality.

The recognition comes in less than one year of CIMB’s operations in the Philippines. Within their first ten months, they have since recruited over 1 million Filipino customers onto their new digital banking model and platform.

In line with their vision of financial inclusion and freedom, they have set up product offerings such as interest-bearing savings accounts of up to 4%, free insurance benefits up to Php 2 million, quick and hassle-free loan and account applications, and 24/7 access to their money through the CIMB Bank PH mobile app.

Unlike other banks, their services do not require maintaining balance or transaction fees, to remove the barriers of traditional banking and give their clients back the power to manage their own money.

Chief Executive Officer for CIMB Bank Philippines Vijay Manoharan shares, “We are humbled by this award and are honored to have been recognized in just our first year in the market.”

He adds, “We owe many of our milestones to our clients, for trusting us and our services, as their financial partner. We look forward to empowering more Filipinos and bringing them closer to financial freedom.”
