WHEN I was a student, I became fascinated with the psychologist BF Skinner and his approach to psychology called behaviorism. Skinner introduced the idea of operant conditioning in the 1930s, which meant that behavior that is followed by pleasant consequences (reinforced) is likely to be repeated.
