The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) maintained its Alert Level 4 over Taal Volcano as more signs of magma movement were observed, indicating possible major eruptions.

The agency said activity at the main crater in 24 hours was “characterized by steady steam emission and infrequent weak explosions that generated ash plumes 500 to 1000 meters tall and dispersed ash southwest of the Main Crater.”
