The Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) on Monday said a land sale gone awry, a drug deal that went wrong or politics could have caused the killing of a former vice mayor and that of an incumbent village chief in Bulacan last week.

In a phone interview, Col. Emma Libunao, Bulacan PPO chief, on Monday said they immediately considered one of the three angles as the possible cause that led to the gunning down by still unidentified suspects of ex-vice mayor Oscar Marquez and barangay (village) head Mauro Capistrano on January 19.
