On Jan. 20, 2020, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), together with the Department of Finance (DoF) and Philippine Stock Exchange (SEC) issued the much awaited amendments to the rules and regulations governing real estate investment trusts (REITs).
To mark the milestone, the DoF, along with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), SEC and PSE launched the new rules and regulations in a joint signing ceremony at the DoF building in Malate, Manila. The commission’s leadership attended the event in full force. AAMBIS-OWA party-list Rep. Sharon Garin, who chairs the committee on economic affairs at the House of Representatives, also witnessed the signing.
