The Philippines’ economic growth in 2019 was the slowest since 2011, despite a surge in the fourth quarter.

The economy grew by 5.9 percent last year, down from the 6.2 percent in 2018 and the slowest recorded since the 4.9 percent in 2011, National Statistician Claire Dennis Mapa said in a briefing on Thursday.
