I was at the packed Araneta Coliseum nine years ago when basketball legend Kobe Bryant played alongside his fellow National Basketball Association players and faced the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) All-Star team in an exhibition game.

I covered the event for The Manila Times. It was the first time I saw the Los Angeles Lakers megastar up close.
