HIDILYN Diaz continued to be in fine form even after the 30th Southeast Asian Games as she captured three gold medals Tuesday evening in the 2020 Roma Weightlifting World Cup at the Palapellicone in Rome, Italy.
Diaz, the 2016 Rio Olympic silver medalist and 2018 Asian Games gold winner, pocketed the golds in snatch (93kg) and clean and jerk (119kg) for her second gold medal.
Her total 212 kg in the women’s 55kg class earned her third gold in the international competition.
The three golds have intensified Diaz’s bid of making it to the Tokyo Olympics that will start on July 24 until August 9.
Kamila Konotop of Ukraine was in second place with 196kg total to cop the silver while Nouha Landoulsi settled for bronze with 194kg.
