SHELL Philippines said on Thursday it would stay on as the operator of Malampaya gas field in Palawan province despite tycoon Dennis Uy’s buyout of joint venture partner Chevron Malampaya LLC.
According to Cesar Abaricia, Pilipinas Shell communications manager, the agreement signed with Uy entails that Shell Philippines Exploration B.V. or SPEX would remain as the operator of the gas field.
