ALTHOUGH he has only been Chief Justice for a little over three months, Chief Justice Peralta already has implemented some key reforms. One of the most important was the launch of the Judiciary Public Assistance Section (JPAS), also known as the Judiciary Help Desk, which is a part of Peralta’s 10-point agenda for the judiciary. Citizens with questions, concerns, or complaints can reach the JPAS by email, telephone, or regular mail.

Speaking to SC personnel after the signing of the bills, Peralta said, “In the exigency of service and in order to address the needs of the general public, it is important to have an official line of communication between the Judiciary, its stakeholders, and the general public to give attention to requests for assistance and information, queries, and concerns.”
