THE country’s tourism industry welcomed 8.26 million foreign visitors last year, a 15.24-percent increase from the 7.16 million arrivals recorded in 2018.
The figure is also marginally higher than Department of Tourism (DoT)’s 2019 target of 8.2 million, set in the National Tourism Development Plan for 2016 to 2022.
