The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it had filed a case against a Mandaue City-based optometrist, who allegedly posted fake news on Facebook about a patient dying of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) at the University of Cebu Medical Center (UCMed). The post caused panic among netizens.
PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac identified the suspect as Josephil Brian Consuelo. He was arrested last Thursday.
