The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Tuesday backed the Senate’s approval of a measure mandating all public and private elementary and high schools to include a Good Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC) subject in their curriculum.

“I welcome this move. GMRC is actually at the core of education. At the time of digital transformation and AI (artificial intelligence), all the more we realize the need to focus on being more human. Moreover, at the heart of legislation and its implementation is the link between laws and values,” said Bishop Rex Andrew Alarcon, CBCP-Episcopal Commission on Youth chairman.
