IMMIGRATION Commissioner Jaime Morente is not off the hook, Malacañang said on Friday, even after President Rodrigo Duterte vouched for the integrity of the retired police officer amid an investigation into the "pastillas" bribery scheme involving several of his officers.
Speaking to reporters, Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo said the President’s friendship with Morente would not spare him from being fired if proven that he did something wrong.
