THE Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines Inc. (IEMop) said a power supply shortfall of up to 1,200 megawatts (MW) may occur in Luzon and the Visayas if several power plants go offline in May and June.

IEMop Chief Operating Officer Robinson Descanzo presented possible power supply scenarios in the two regions during the dry season.
