IT is almost always with a heavy heart that I write or comment on something not so savory for international media about what is going on in my own country. But what has taken place over the past three days or so in the Malaysian political arena was nothing short of dramatic, with the nonagenarian Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, having resorted to resigning his premiership fewer than 20 months into a government elected for a maximum period of five years.
