THE Senate on Wednesday voted in favor of adopting Senate Resolution (SR) 6 expressing its sense to allow ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation and all its subsidiaries to operate pending the final determination of the renewal of its franchise by the 18th Congress through the issuance of the appropriate provisional authority by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

In presenting the SR 6, Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said that what was mainly considered in drafting the resolution was the welfare of the more than 11,000 workers to be affected by the non-renewal of the franchise of the television network.
