Letting go of my career and being a homemaker was a choice I decided when my husband and I started our family decades ago. It was also my decision to look for income opportunities once my children were off to college. Not everyone could make that choice though. Most families depend on a two-income household. Findings from LinkedIn Opportunity Index 2020 reveal that working mothers in the Philippines are the most interested in starting businesses and finding a stable job, compared to other segments of the population. The lack of finances and time pose as opportunity gaps. As much as 25 percent of working mothers consider entrepreneurship as their main opportunity. Sixteen percent of working mothers rank job security among the main opportunities they want to pursue.
