About 30,000 to 50,000 individuals working in the travel and tourism sectors could lose their jobs if the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak lasts until June this year, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) warned.

“In terms of jobs, we are looking at potential losses of 30,000 to 50,000 jobs for travel and tourism,” NEDA Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillon revealed during a Senate hearing held on Monday.
