THE Department of Health (DoH) on Wednesday confirmed that 202 patients tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19), from 187 while the death toll is up to 17 from 14.
The three new fatalities all passed away on Tuesday.
The 15th victim, identified as PH201, 58, male, succumbed to the disease at 6:41 a.m. on Tuesday.
A 65-year old male from Pasig City — identified as PH57 — also died from coronavirus and pneumonia, a complication of the diseas, at 10:10 a.m., making him the 16th victim.
PH160, 86, female, from San Juan City is the 17th death after succumbing to complications of the disease, namely septic shock and pneumonia at 2:25 a.m.
Meawhile, the DoH also announced three additional recoveries, bringing the total number to seven.
Two patients from Makati Medical Center (MMC) has been discharged since Sunday, March 15.
The fifth recovered patient, identified as PH15, 24, male was admitted on March 7. He had a travel history to the United Arab Emirates.
The seventh recovered patient, PH13, 34, male, was confirmed for Covid-19 on March 9.
Meanwhile, PH26, 34, male is the sixth patient to recover from the coronavirus disease.
The patient from Camarines Sur is one of two repatriates from the M/V Diamond Princess who tested positive during the 14-day quarantine at the Athlete’s Village in New Clark City.
