Dear PAO,
My friend was convicted by a regional trial court of a crime and was sentenced to suffer the penalty of imprisonment for a minimum of eight years. He appealed his conviction and the penalty imposed upon him before the Court of Appeals. The court sustained my friend’s conviction, but reduced his sentence to a maximum of four years and eight months of imprisonment. Could he later file an application for probation?
