A top official of entertainment and broadcast giant ABS-CBN has passed away on Monday.
The Lopez-led media firm announced the death of its chief financial officer Rolando P. Valdueza in an issued statement Monday night.
The cause of death was not mentioned, but ABS-CBN said it “mourns his passing and extends our deepest condolences to his family, whose privacy we request everyone to respect at this time.”
ABS-CBN said the whole group was heartbroken and credited Valdueza, who had been with the network for over three decades, for boosting the media firm’s reach, particularly to local communities.
Establishing his mark in the group, Valdueza began serving as budget officer in 1988. He then took the role as Sky Cable regional director for Visayas and Mindanao, eventually becoming the managing director of Pilipino Cable Company.
Valdueza also reigned the ABS-CBN Regional Network Group (RNG) in 2001. He then got the spotlight as the group’s chief financial officer in 2012.
“Serving ABS-CBN in different capacities for over three decades, Ron definitely played an integral role in the company’s expansion and development. We thank him for generously sharing his brilliance and dedication so that ABS-CBN can fulfill its mission to serve the Filipino through the years,” ABS-CBN said. LISBET K. ESMAEL
