THE government is eyeing some of the country's landmarks, hotels, and maritime vessels as alternative quarantine facilities amid the soaring cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the Philippines.

In a virtual press conference aired over state-run television on Tuesday, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles said the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and World Trade Center (WTC) in Pasay and the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila would be converted into "fully-functional quarantine facilities."
