PHILIPPINE Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard Gordon (in photo), met on March 28 with officials of the World Health Organization and the Department of Health (DoH) to supervise the setup of the Covid-19 testing center at the PRC in order to ensure that it is up to par with stringent health and medical standards.

Using 2 Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) machines, the PRC will be able to process almost 3,000 tests a day with a turn around time of 2 hours per batch of tests. The PRC will also be using an automated Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) extraction machine.
