Passion week is a week of deep reflection. For the first time humanity has a common enemy and we are fighting this enemy as one. This global coronavirus pandemic is a test of our deep FAITH in Him. We HOPE that we shall be reborn from the life lessons this pandemic holds for us — not only lessons for the mind, but lessons for the heart, as well. So, what is this pandemic, this worldwide affliction, teaching us?

I quote a passage from the Jesuits’ post: “In the saga of national emergencies there was always an outlet. Locations to release tensions and fears. Places to escape and find momentary respite from the real. Spaces to process and understand the world at hand. You see it in movies sometimes. People running to the church to pray in the trenches, searching for hope and meaning, peace and comfort. In this moment of our history, however, where people would seek solace, tenderness and mercy, those doors have been closed. All for the safety of the community, indeed, and yet the void is quite felt. Where do we turn for accompaniment, for direction, for some sense and meaning in the confusion?” Indeed, where do we turn to, whom do we turn to? Let’s find the answers through what people feel and say, what countries did, are doing and will do.
