Defending champion SMB favors shortened season

Head coach Leo Austria of Philippine Cup defending champion San Miguel Beer said the league governors of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) made the right decision to shorten the season to a single or two-conference format.

“I think that is really the best thing they can do for this year. Alam naman natin na shortened na talaga ito dahil sa umpisa pa lang ng season eh na-stop na and then for us to have a lot of time to adjust for whatever reason,” Austria told The Manila Times in a phone interview late Wednesday night.
