If Michael Jordan is indeed the greatest of all time, we should expect that he has brought team success. This is the main argument against Wilt Chamberlain, who still has the most incredible numbers we’ve ever seen, yet he only has a 2-6 record.
The problem with winning championships is that you need more than just having a great team — you need to be better than everybody else. Chamberlain managed to be a part of one of the best teams ever — the 1972 LA Lakers with Jerry West and company. However, in his tenure with the Philadelphia 76ers, he was beaten at the playoffs by the mighty Boston Celtics.
