THE Department of Justice (DoJ) and the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), the two top legal offices of the Executive, are on the war path over whether or not ABS-CBN’s franchise should be extended.
ABS-CBN Convergence's franchise expired last March 17 while ABS-CBN Corporation's license to operate expires today, Monday. The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) gave the TV network provisional authority (PA) to operate based on the DoJ legal opinion.
