ENVIRONMENTAL health groups reiterated the need for plastic pollution prevention policies and measures as the Month of the Ocean is observed this May in the Philippines amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

To commemorate the Month of the Ocean as per Presidential Proclamation 57, Oceana Philippines, Mother Earth Foundation and EcoWaste Coalition renewed their pleas for laws and regulations to protect the oceans, especially from chemical and plastic pollutants.
