PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte assured the public that he was not thinking of declaring martial law to ensure that everyone was following quarantine measures to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the country.

In his public address aired over state-run PTV4 late Thursday night, Duterte said the public should not worry about the police and the military, as enforcing laws to prevent more Covid-19 cases were necessary and urgent.
