BAGUIO CITY: Families with existing gardens in the Summer Capital during the enhanced community quarantine last March to mid-May and general community quarantine up to the end of May and June are encouraged to join the survival garden contest. This was announced by Dr. Brigit Piok, head of the City Veterinary and Agriculture Office. Two categories--in-ground garden plots and container garden--shall be screened in the barangay (village) level by local officials and identified as Top 3 winners in each category. Only the champion per category will represent the barangay for the second level of screening on June 25-26, with awarding on a later date. As proof of the two-month nurturing of the survival garden, a detailed scrap book with photos of crops from seedlings to maturity needs to be submitted on June 11 for the barangay level.
