PALACE spokesman Harry Roque Jr. mentioned in one of his recent daily briefings a locally stranded individual (LSI) who died while she was eagerly waiting to return home to her province. He then announced that the government promises the Filipino people that it will do everything in its power to help LSIs like the dead woman to return to their places of residence healthy and swiftly.

This woman was seen to experienced difficulty breathing and was said to have had a high fever. She later lost consciousness on a footbridge along EDSA. She had been stranded in Manila and reportedly been waiting for days on end for a bus ride to her Camarines Sur hometown.  She was declared dead on arrival at the hospital she was rushed to.
