The Department of Finance (DoF) plans to roll out soon a system that would allow the government to capture value-added tax (VAT) leakages from digital services giants, such as Netflix, Google, Amazon and Facebook.
“We are currently working on a system to collect VAT from… [the] giant tech firms. We are planning to roll this [out] as soon as possible,” Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez 3rd told reporters through Viber on Friday.
