THERE has been a decrease in the number of individuals who tested positive for the Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) since the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) was enforced in Cebu City, according to a top official of the Department of Health (DoH).

Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega attributed the decline in positivity and the mortality rates to the enforcement of stricter quarantine measures but clarified that it was too early to say if the ECQ would be shifted to a more lenient Modified ECQ or General Community Quarantine (GCQ) as it was a matter that needed to be discussed with the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
