As promised by its chief, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has released its advisory ordering distribution utilities (DUs) and electric cooperatives (ECs) to refund customers for paying certain electricity charges during the community quarantine imposed by the government.

Citing its initial evaluation, the ERC said in the July 7 order released to the media on Thursday that DUs and ECs that failed to comply with its previous advisories were directed to pay back the feed-in tariff allowance (FiT-All) and universal charge-environmental charge (UC-EC) to their customers.
