THE Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday sought more time before finally ruling on the petition of ABS-CBN Corp. which seeks to get an order to remain on air.

According to an unimpeachable source of The Manila Times in the high court, the Magistrates wanted to go through the final verdict of the House of Representatives, which junked the legislative franchise of the media giant.

Hence, the same source said the case of ABS-CBN was reset and shall be placed on the agenda for the justices to deliberate and decide on in three weeks time or on August 4.

Times sources said the Justices were inclined to dismiss the petition after the event at the House.

Senior Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe, the ponente of the case, is set to issue her Draft Recommendations to the Court en banc following the recent ruling of the House Committee on Legislative Franchises, which denied the franchise.
