THE Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Office has confirmed on Tuesday that North Cotabato is no longer free from African swine fever (ASF) after hogs in a barangay (village) in Magpet town tested positive for the disease.
In a statement, the DA said the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) of North Cotabato received reports of swine mortality in backyard farms in Barangay Ilian on June 29, prompting the agency to launch investigation, surveillance and monitoring.
