In the middle of the pandemic, a total of 1,488 municipal mayors have expressed backing for amending the 1987 Constitution, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) bared on Saturday.

The League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) submitted a paper to the DILG, calling for the amendments in the Constitution and expressing its aim to see “real change” immediately.
