This year’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), a glitzy event before the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, would be austere but would showcase the “calmness and beauty of nature,” according to Radio Television Malacañang Executive Director Demic Pabalan, one of those who prepared the production.

Although this year’s SONA would be simpler, there being very few spectators at the House of Representatives, Pabalan said they had to activate a back-up site in case the event would not be held at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.
